When You’re Feeling Under the Weather—Two Essential Oils That Will Rock Your World

When you're feeling under the weather, when your allergies are acting up, there's no better combo than Eucalyptus and Rosemary essential oils to help rejuvenate your body and spirit.

Eucalyptus oil has antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal components, and a long history of being a go-to against the symptoms of colds, influenza, and other respiratory infections. It has widely been used to relieve cold symptoms such as coughing and sore throat. And according to the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy, eucalyptus oil’s active compound 1,8-cineole, acts as a natural cough suppressant and can be beneficial for clearing mucus from airways.

Rosemary also contains cineole along with other beneficial terpenes that can relieve fatigue, boost the immune system by stimulating internal antioxidant activity, and supporting respiratory function. In addition, a study found that inhaling diffused rosemary oil improved mood states; subjects felt more active and “fresher.”

Combining these two powerful herbs can help you not only breathe better and feel better, but both contain anti-inflammatory compounds that can lead to a reduction in body aches and pains when used topically, as well as compounds that support mental clarity and focus. These are super helpful when you’re not feeling well but still have work to do.

Both these essential oils are components of Miracle Sports Cream as well as our Awakening Bath Tea. Miracle Sports Cream is not only great for body aches and pains, but can also be rubbed onto your chest or under your nose to help open up and soothe airways.

The Awakening Bath Tea is a hot therapeutic soak that combines epsom salt with eucalyptus and rosemary essential oils, as well as lemon and ginger, two “feel better” staples when you’re under the weather. Not only does this bath soak smell like a fresh walk in a forest, but it serves to help boost both your body and soul—the Epsom salt and hot water loosen up muscles and melt away aches and pains, and taking deep breaths of the steam from the hot bath deliver the aromatherapy benefits of the essential oils to soothe your lungs and sinuses.

Both are all-natural ways to combat the symptoms of a cold or allergies that feel good and smell good.

Wishing everyone a healthy and happy Spring!
